Broadband Issues – More Bad News

After a lot of delays and hassles, the broadband engineers finally called out to sort out my connection problems. After some deliberation, they set me up on a new high site, only to discover that my upload speed was just as bad. After a lot of discussion with their support team, they finally broke the bad news. They couldn’t guarantee the connection and would therefore have to remove the equipment.

From speaking to the engineer, my original problem stemmed from the fact that the high site was so far away. The site they connected me to today is much closer. However, they have been experiencing problems with interference from another one of their antennas on the same building. So now I’m back to square one. I have a rock solid download speed and a rubbish upload speed. At this stage, I’m so fed up over the whole sorry mess that I agreed to have the equipment removed, and they will take down the aerial in 28 days.

I’ve already been in touch with another provider and I’ve signed up with them. For the same price, I can get a 3Mbps connection. The downside is that they have a 512Kbps upload speed and a traffic quota of 30GB per month. I hoping to have the new connection installed before they come to take the old aerial away, at least that way I won’t have any disruption in service. Fingers crossed anyway.
