Using iSync to Connect to a Nokia 3120 Classic

Update 9th November 2009: This is my last attempt at trying to get the Nokia 3120 classic working with iSync in Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6).

  • Download the modified iSync plugin here.
  • Unzip the plugin.
  • Open your Applications folder and locate iSync.
  • Right click iSync and select “Show Package Contents” from the menu.
  • In the new Finder window navigate to:

Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/PlugIns/

  • Copy the Nokia-3120c.phoneplugin that you download from this site into this folder.
  • When prompted that the plugins folder cannot be modified, click “Authenticate”.
  • Enter your password.

I have no idea if this will work or not, but it’s the best that I can do.

Update 29th October 2009: I’ve had a look at the plist file format for iSync on Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6), and there have been some changes. I’ve updated the 3120c.plist file to reflect these changes, but I’m unable to test the new file. If you’d like to test the new file, you can download it here and please let me know how it goes in the comments. Thanks, Paul.

Update 19th October 2009: As posted in the comments below, this plugin no longer works with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). As I no longer have a Nokia 3120c to test with, so I’m afraid I have no way to update the plugin. If anyone does have a working plugin for Snow Leopard, let me know and I’ll link to it from here. Thanks. Paul.

I lost my phone a couple of weeks ago, so I went out and bought a new one. I plumped for a Nokia 3120, because it had what I wanted – a basic camera, bluetooth, and a memory slot – and was cheap.

As with all Nokia’s connecting it to your PC is achieved by using Nokia’s PC Suite, however, connecting it to my Mac via iSync didn’t seem to be possible. I could browse the device via Bluetooth, but iSync would report that it could not use the device.

Thanks to James Lloyd, I was eventually able to get it working. James has a great post about using iSync to connect to Nokia’s Series 40 phones, and helpfully provides plugin’s for nearly 40 models.

While the 3120 classic is not listed, I was able to modify one of the plugins to get it to work. You can grab the 3120 iSync plugin here. Just follow James’ instructions and iSync will happily connect to your 3120.

Edit: The original instructions on James’ blog have disappeared, so you can now find the installation instructions here.

  • Right click iSync from the with applications in the finder and “show package contents”
  • Navigate to: Contents\Plugins\ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\Contents\Plugins\Nokia-6131.phoneplugin\Contents\Resources

!!! make a backup of MetaClasses.plist !!!

  • replace contents of MetaClasses.plist with the iSync plugin (text file downloaded from here) for your nokia mobile!

    hi,
how can i use the file txt?

    thanks

  4. James says:

Hi, just linked to this page for the 3120 plugin, so you should see some more traffic coming your way!

    James

  5. Gasparrisoft says:

Good, fast and simple trick. Thanks

  6. aliasflorence says:

Wow! Bummer. Sync failed. Ended up with a hundred copies of the same half dozen names. Crap!

  7. Roland says:

Paul, you win the award for best isync hack for the Nokia! Worked great! Thanks!

  8. Paul says:

@aliasflorence: Sorry it didn’t work for you, but it’s been working for me without any issues.

@Roland: Thanks! I’d love to be able to take the credit, but all the credit is due to James Lloyd. He’s the man who created the scripts that I merely edited! Delighted to hear that it works for you! :)

  9. spacec0w says:

Hi, thanks a million for this! I recommend changin this key value:

    MaxURLLength
    60

from 60 to 200 or something. Or is there a reason not to do this?

  10. spacec0w says:

Nevermind, well, it seems like the limit is around 125, like 4 characters short of the addresses I want to put in. I’m tring to set this: http://www.aldeaglobal.net/callserver/ up. Any idea of how this could be fixed?

  11. Paul says:

Could be a limit in the browser. Try using a different browser. Opera have a mobile edition, but I’ve no idea if this will work on your phone.

    http://www.operamini.com/download/

  12. Spacec0w says:

Thanks Paul. Well, for the moment I’ve been using the “URL” field in Address book to copy over these links, and I see that in the phone itself is where the limit is. I’d much prefer to use that as I can just click “details” then make a call, and I’ve found TinyURL to be an acceptable solution for now.

  13. Paul says:

Good idea to use Tiny URL. I must remember that one!

  14. Adam says:

Hi Paul, Have you not found that when you synch, the dates in the calendars are out by a day? I’ve discovered also that dates where all-day event is selected are changed to a 12 hour block by the phone.

    • Bob says:

Yes I have. Very odd behaviour that I can’t explain. I’d assumed it may be because I’m based in New Zealand and we are nearly always a day ahead of everyone and there was some weird relationship between iCal and the phone. I’ve turned off “time zone support” in iCal’s advanced preferences. Not sure yet is that will make any difference.

My main problem right now is that every few days the sync just doesn’t work and I have to reset everything.

  15. Paul says:

    Hi Adam,

I don’t use the calendar on my phone, so I haven’t come across this. I no longer have my 3120, so I can’t test this issue either.

The best advice I can give you is to check James Lloyd’s site to see if anyone else has reported an issue like this.

    http://www.james-lloyd.com/scripts/nokia-series-40-isync-plugin/

Sorry I can’t be of more help,
    Paul.

  16. Sarah Taylor says:

Many thanks, Paul. It worked brilliantly, after I battled for hours last night to move phone contacts from an old phone to the new one. I am just wondering where the notes on the phone (nokia 3120 classic) are stored on the Mac / and can they be transferred via ISync.

    take care,
    Sarah

  17. Marcos I says:

    Hi,
I did everything to conect my Nokia 3120, but I can’t. Is this tips compatibles with the OS 10.4.11? Could be this my problem. Thanks for any help.

    Marcos

  18. Paul says:

    Hi Marcos,

I would think that it may have more to do with the version of iSync that you’re using. This plugin worked for me on OS 10.5 using iSync version 3.02.

I haven’t tested it on OS 10.4 as I don’t have that version on any of my systems. From what I can make out, 10.4 uses iSync version 2.4, which may not be compatible with this plugin.

    Regards,
    Paul.

  19. azhar ariff says:

    Worked beautifully on OS 10.5.6

    Thank you very much!

  20. TRST says:

    Hello!

I could not figure out how to change the content of the metaclasses.plist file for Nokia 3120…

    • Paul says:

      Hi TRST,

The file does not need to be edited. Simply make a copy of it and replace it with the metaclasses.plist available from this post.

      Regards,
      Paul.

  21. TRST says:

Thanks for answering, this I don´t quite understand: The link leads to .txt file and nothing seems to be dowloaded, should the .plist file to be freplced with txt file, or do <i try with wrong link?

    http://www.paulmc.org/whatithink/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/3120c.txt

    • Paul says:

Copy the contents of the text file, paste it into you preferred text editor and save it as:

      Contents\Plugins\ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\Contents\Plugins\Nokia-6131.phoneplugin\Contents\Resources\metaclasses.plist

  22. CoryS says:

I have a 3120 and used the plug in. I was having trouble syncing it via bluetooth, and thought I was only going to be able to sync via USB. iSync was saying ‘cannot connect to this device’. Being desperate, impulsive, and not having a USB cable, I did some fiddling, and in Homer Simpson fashion, made it work.

First, quit iSync, and make sure the above plugin is working. I also duplicated the now edited phone profile folder and put in ‘3120′ in place of ‘6131′ in the folder name.

Then I went into bluetooth preferences and then into ‘add serial ports’ for the phone. I changed ‘port type’ for ‘nokia PC suite’ from modem to ‘RS 232′. I added a COM port for the phone and set it to RS 232 as well.

I then opened system profiler. This may have done nothing, but it now works so I’m putting it in.

I then re-opened isync and the device added fine.

  23. Tomek says:

    Great!

    Easy and fast solution!

    Thank you very much!

    Tomek.

  24. Sarah says:

HI Paul, thanks so much for posting the link about synching Nokia 3120 classic to Leopard Isync – it works a dream! You have made me a very happy person today!

  25. Mimo says:

Excellent results; I tried without the alteration, didn’t work; read the instructions, did the work, iSinced inmediately!!!!
    Fabulous!!!!!

    Thank you very much

  26. TRST says:

    Hi!

    It works, thanks.

The problem was, that the A p p l e T e x t E d i t did not allow to save the file with the extension .plist, but it wanted to add “rtf” extension to the end of the file.

With the MS Word the file could be saved as plist, and also the .rtf file could be renamed in finder to be the .plist file.

    Thanks again!

  27. Bob says:

Good patch, thanks. I had a lot of trouble initially syncing with iSync. Sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn’t, sometimes it tried to delete the contacts list on the phone or the computer (ie one way sync) and it seemed to grab iCal items at random. The work around appears to be to make sure that the option to “sync only contacts with phone numbers” (in the “more options” iSync menu) is NOT selected. Once I unselected it iSync started synching contacts and calendars perfectly. I haven’t yet checked whether reselecting that option will make the symptoms return … too risky.

    • Paul says:

Thanks for the feedback Bob. I got rid of my Nokia 3120 a while back so I haven’t used this recently. I’m sure others will find this of use.

      Cheers,
      Paul.

    • Julia says:

      Thanks for the suggestion, Bob!

I am using a 3120 as a “replacement” phone while my iPhone is in for servicing. I actually had palpitations for about half an hour after dropping it in for servicing, purely at the thought of not having my 2 calendars and hundreds of contacts at my immediate disposal (sad, I know…).

Anyway, I was having dramas with iSync, saying that I needed to close some dialogues and applications on my phone for it to sync properly – it wouldn’t sync anything at all.

I switched off “sync only contacts with phone numbers”, and it was still playing up. I then individually sync-ed the Calendar first (as in, switched off “sync contacts” and JUST sync-ed the calendar). When that worked, I switched off “sync calendar” and switched on “sync contacts” and that worked fine, too. So I managed to get my core data on the phone at least.

I think it might be something to do with the processing capacity of the phone, and perhaps it couldn’t handle the quantity of data? Anyway, thanks for the plugin, Paul — worked a treat!

      J.

      • Paul says:

My pleasure Julia, and thanks for the feedback on how you got it to work. Seems that while this iSync plugin does work, it’s not perfect. Until Nokia decide that developing software for the Mac is a necessity, we’ll be stuck withwork-arounds like this.

        All the best,
        Paul.

  28. Bob says:

Actually a new issue has cropped up that has me stumped. I’ve now set up to sync my phone at regular intervals. I can sync Mac to Phone if I delete the phone calendar and contacts but the sync (which is two way) fails. iSync firsts attempts to transfer information from the phone to the Mac – and this fails part way through. As a consequence the whole sync is cancelled. It seems to get stuck on a particular contact or a particular event – although the actual contact or event isn’t always the same. The message I get on the phone is that the data connection has been lost and the message on iSync’s log is “[Nokia 3120 classic] There was an error getting data from the phone. The synchronization may have been canceled on the phone.”

I’ve pretty much tried everything I can think of to sort this out including resetting the phone. One clue is that although the two devices are paired, when I attempt to connect the phone to the mac from the phone I get a bluetooth connection failure message on the phone. However, I can transfer files form and to the phone using either Mac’s bluetooth file exchange or the Nokie equivalent.

    I’m stumped.

  29. Bob says:

Here’s the iSync message if anyone understands such stuff :

  30. Paul says:

I have purchased a new Nokia 3120 Classic, and replaced the file contents of Contents\Plugins\ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\Contents\Plugins\Nokia-6131.phoneplugin\Contents\ResourcesMetaClasses.plist with the string you have posted here.

ISync still says it cannot sync with my phone.

Would I also need to change the Nokia-6131 folder name with “Nokia-3210 Classic” and edit the contents of info.plaist to replace all instances of the text “6131″ with 3120 Classic”?

    Any other tips from anyone?

    • Paul says:

      Hi Paul,

There should be no need to change the text file that you downloaded. The file already has all the necessary references to the 3120c included. I’d advise trying to replace the MetaClasses.plist and pair your phone with your Mac again.

      Regards,
      Paul.

  31. Martin Fluch says:

Works fine with my 3120 classic I just got! Thanks also to James! :-)

  32. fritha says:

Hey – I am a total cyber novice and yet I still managed to do this! What a miracle – thank you VERY much!!! Please tell James too. I am still gob smacked I did this!

  33. Cabeza says:

Thanks for the tip. I am living a double life with an N95 a 3120 and keeping them in sync was driving me mad. Now I can have the Mac as a middle man. If I could suggest a minor mod to your procedure: changing the Metaclasses file within Isync is probably risky. Next time Apple publishes a new Isync app the changes will likely get toasted. I would suggest doing exactly the same thing as you indicate but doing the work in /Library/PhonePlugins/ (you can create the folder if it doesn’t exist in your machine), proceeding this way:

1-Copy the Nokia-6131.phoneplugin from iSync.app/Contents/Plugins/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/Plugins/ to /Library/PhonePlugins/ and do the changes to the Metaclasses plist there.
(you can change the name of the “new” plug in to Nokia-3120.phoneplugin for clarity if you want)
    2-Now follow Paul’s instructions.

The result is the same, but you do no the mess with the app.

    Thanks again

  34. Leandro says:

    Works great. Thanks!!

  35. Bob says:

A curious fault has reoccurred. When synching dates, some whole day events are moved forward a day. I’m also getting some doubling up of events which suggests the problem may lie more within the Mac’s ical files than within iSync. I know people have mentioned this day movement before, but anyone found out why?

  36. Sweesal says:

    Thanks!! it really works! ..

  37. Rebecca says:

Hi Bob, I am having the same problem with my Nokia 3120 classic. I was able to use this hack successfully on my previous Nokia phone, but now I have the same problem of having it stop halfway when it gets stuck on a calendar event.

    Did anyone find a solution?

Also on a side note, I bought my Nokia in the middle east, and now I need a Chinese language pack. Anyone know where I can download one?

Thanks so much for your help, otherwise I’d be totally lost!
    Best
    Rebecca

  38. dc says:

After changing MetaClasses.plist as described, there was still one more step that was required for me:

    1) Go search Google Images: “Nokia 3120c”
    2) Save an image of the largest picture you can find of the mobile
    3) Copy and paste the picture into the folder containing MetaClasses.plist
    4) Rename the picture “NOK3120.tiff”

That is, to create an image needed for one of the commands in the new plug in to work.

  39. Lap Lee says:

thank you so much, genius ~
u help us save much much time!!!

  40. Emil says:

    Great work man!

  41. Chuck says:

I have used this method and can synch with bluetooth using isync. My issue is this: I created an address book directory called cellphone. I then “synch” this file. However, changes from my phone back to my MACBOOK appear in the directory “all”. I then have to drag them to cellphone. This is very clumsy. Is there a fix for this? As I understand it I cannot have TWO addressbooks (not sure why apple did this, seems like a good function to me – like one for work and one for personal).

    Please help!

  42. Henri says:

    Hey Paul!
I’m sorry to bother you about this, but i followed the whole procedure, but things just won’t work as you said :(

    This is what i did:
I went to the directory that you described and copied the metaclasses-file to my desktop.
After that i copied the code to a file in smultron, which i named Metaclasses.plist afterwards.
That file i copied into the directory.
Then i restarted my macbook, en searched for new devices is iSync, which still told me that my nokia 3120 classic wasn’t supported…
    Help please? :s

    Henri

  43. Kurt says:

Guys i deleted the original MetaClasses.plist by mistake (dumbass). Where can I get a download?

  44. jim says:

    Hi Paul,

I’m having an iSync (ver. 3.1.0) problem with my 3120 Classic using OS X 10.6

I updated the metaclasses.plist file as instructed above and now iSync found my mobile phone. :D The problem occurs when I try to synchronize: “cannot synchronize before you have added a device”. Then when doubble-clicking the found device the program crashes. Time after time.

Any idea why this happens and any possible idea of how solving this problem.

  45. Geronimus says:

    HI there.
The Hack worked for me with nokia 3120 classic and iSync 2.4 (OS 10.4.11)
Yesterday, I’ve updated to OS 10.6.1 and iSync 3.1 can’t add my Nokia to the Device List – don’t know why…

my contacts are all in my mobile phone…. :(
    and ipods…

  46. Marco says:

    It’s fantastic!

  47. gauti says:

    great!!
    finally, after hours of surfing.
used this with 3720 classic and it´s looking good.

thanks alot for taking the time to do this

  48. jordi says:

Thanks, I am going to try it!

  49. Alex says:

    Thanks for nice clear instructions!
But, still was not working for me with Nokia 3120 and Leopard.

So, I found an app called SyncMate via Versiontracker. Working sweet!

  50. Antonis6 says:

isync crashes every time i try to add the device so i can sync it. maybe 10.6 problem?

  51. jcg says:

It works very well in leopard. But it doesn’t work in snow leopard. What can I do to operate on snow leopard?

  52. B says:

Thank you so much, it worked great…:)

  53. Javier says:

    Thank you!!!
    It worked for me.

  54. Martin Fluch says:

It seems that the plugin for the Nokia 3120 classic which has been mentioned above stoped working under Snow Leopard (10.6.1 in my case). I replaced the MetaClasses.plist as described above. When trying to add my Nokia 3120 classic to the list of synced devices iSync crashes immediately. Is there any solution known to this problem?

  55. Matt says:

Anyone any input on Martin’s post?… I’m also having 10.6.1, but hesitate to try things… not a pro with computers and don’t want to screw my brand new MacBookPro :-)… Hope someone can help Martin and me out. Martin, do you have any news yourself?

    • Martin Fluch says:

Unfortunately I do not have any positive news, sorry… :-/

I tried once the iSync Plug-In Maker application but in vain, as I do not seem to have the sufficient knowledge about the sync process. So right now I have given up myself and I am hoping some more skilled person will eventually come up with a solution for iSync on Snow Leopard.

  56. carms says:

    What am i doing wrong?

I copied the text and pasted it instead of what was there, saved the file and closed it.
I went to isync and selected add new device and it still claimed that the 3120 is not supported by isync.

should i have done something differently?

  57. David says:

I have the same problem, with Snow Leopard and iSync 3.1. Crashes immediately

  58. Todd Young says:

And with Snow Leopard the metaclasses file here just seems to crash Isync. It was fun while it lasted.

  59. Andreas says:

Indeed, the plugin under OS X 10.6.1 crashes iSync. Any idea to fix this ? Thanks alot

  60. Paul says:

I no longer have a Nokia 3120c, so I have no way to test this. It might be that the plugin format has been changed with the new version of Snow Leopard.

  61. Antonis6 says:

Ok since isync isn’t working i found this application: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_tools/syncmate.html
syncs all nokia s40 phones and works fine under 10.6

  62. Andrea Ceria says:

Syncmate doesn’t work with my 3120 classic & macbook (Snow Leo) via Bluetooth… they see each other but then when the sync starts, the phone seems to restart and the sync can’t proceed anymore…

I’ve read something about editing other Metaclasses.plist on discussions.apple.com but the thing didn’t work for the 3120 classic….

anyone tried to use the old iSync 3.0 on Snow Leo?

  63. Bob says:

I’m having the same trouble as Andrea with Syncmate. But clearly a couple of you have managed to sort this out. How did you do it guys? The problem seems to be that Syncmate isn’t installing the program on the 8120

  64. John says:

Syncmate did synch, but did screw up years, so events which took place years ago all show up as this year.

  65. Rhys says:

thanks so much, worked a treat.

  66. Bob says:

Can someone please step me through what I have to do to use Syncmate on a 3120. I’ve tried everything and can’t get it to work. I suspect I have a phone setting wrong, because it seems to sync my Google calendar OK

  67. Antonis6 says:

First you have to open the bluetooth menu on your mac and choose setup bluetooth device. After you have your 3120 classic set up, open Syncmate and in the device connection wizard that appears choose Series S40 phone, and select your phone. After all this you are ready to sync your addres book contacts ant ical events. I din’t have any problems with syncmate.

  68. Bob says:

Yup done all that may times and it still doesn’t work. Here’s the log :
    BEGIN SYNCING…

    Check connections.

    Start sync service session.
Beginning a sync session for connection Nokia 3120 classic (series40Connection)

    Sync restarted.

    Push Prepare.
getContactsChanges failed for connection “Nokia 3120 classic” (series40Connection)
    Prepare Push failed.
Session cancelled. Session cancelled by client

    Start sync rest plugins

    END SYNCING

  69. Todd Young says:

Syncmate installs fine, runs fine… does everything fine but actually syncs nothing.

I’m really glad it’s a happy program, the logs show successful syncs… that’s nice.

But if nothing transfers over to the phone it’s just a waste of space. I think it may be time to just sell, or bin, the old Nokia Apple doesn’t care to support it.

  70. Danielle says:

I’ve followed instructions and replaced my MetaClasses document contents with the new text you provided. I open iSync and it sees my phone, but when I click to ‘add the device’, iSync shuts down spontaneously every time. Any ideas anyone?

    • Martin Fluch says:

Are you using Snow Leopard? If so, then you have the same problem as me, which (if I am not mistaken) seems to be that the general format of the MetaClasses document has changed with the new version of iSync…

  71. Andrea Ceria says:

Nobody tried the previous version of iSync on Snow Leo?!?
I upgraded from Tiger and I’ve no backup of iSync… anybody willing to try?

  72. Paul says:

    Hi all,

I’ve updated the file for the 3120c to the format for iSync on Snow Leopard. You can download the updated file from the link in my post. As I can’t test this, I’d appreciate it if someone could test it and let me know if it works.

    Thanks,
    Paul.

Will try in a couple of hours! Thanks in advance

  74. Riccardo says:

At the link shown to download the isync plugin for nokia 3210 I found a long sequence of data…
Is there a easier way to just download it?
    Thankls!
    Riccardo

    • Paul says:

Right click the link and select “Save Link As..”. That will save the text file to your computer and you can then rename it as per the instructions above.

      Cheers,
      Paul.

  75. Naggers says:

Still crashes isync immediately! Thanks for the update thought!

  76. Martin says:

    Works well. Cheers

  77. Hywel says:

I’ve tried all the ideas in this post to get 3120c working with iSync under Snow Leopard – iSync can see the device (with a random phone icon which is a bit weird), but can’t sync. iSync says ‘device not supported’, even with a carefully-prepared 3120c plugin file.

After much mucking about, I’ve given up. Use SyncMate – it works fine on Snow Leopard, and it’s free.

  78. Mark says:

Followed all the instructions with the new snow leopard plugin and it still crashes isync upon attempting to add the phone. Thanks for all the hard work though.

  79. Todd Young says:

I wonder if perhaps Apple is trying to tell us something here…. like sell 3rd party phones and buy an Iphone… or we’ll make your lives as difficult as possible? Nahhhhhhhh!

The Snow Leopard plugin does not work… Thanks for trying.

Even syncmate if iffy for me, unreliable.

For such a small thing like plugin support, Apple has no excuse for disabling it. But, they’ve always been big on “My way or the highway”

  80. ansis says:

Sorry, did not worked for Snow Leopard
(got an 3210 as replacement while iPhone is in service)

  81. Paul says:

    Hi all,

I’ve made one last update to this post. There’s now an iSync plugin attached for the 3120c. Once again, I haven’t tested this, so test at your own discretion.

    Regards,
    Paul.

  82. jim says:

    Works for me!

Some problems with the contacts, but the calendar was synchronized w/o problems!

    You’re a guru!

  83. Martin Fluch says:

The updated iPhone plugin from November 9th seems to work splendit on 10.6.2! I can now add again my phone (iSync doesn’t crash at this stage) and syncing contacts and calendar entries seems to work fine (I just had a short try, but things seem to work)!

Great work, Paul! :-) And thanks for packing it as a complete plugin package for easy installation! :-)

  84. Paul says:

I’m as much surprised as I am delighted that my last update worked!

I really must do a post on how I got this to work, it might help others create plugins for other phones.

Thanks to everyone who tested this for me, I appreciate your help. You all deserve a pat on the back.

    Thanks to everyone,
    Paul.

  85. Hique says:

I installed the 9th November version but it didn’t worked (on Snow Leopard 10.6.2) :( . iSync says:

“This device is not supported by iSync.”

How did you manage to work, Paul?

    Thanks!

  86. jcg says:

it works very well on 10.6.2, thaks very much

  88. Thomas says:

    Hi Paul,

I have got the Nokia 3120c working under Snow Leopard – i used James Lloyd’s script and just changed “Inherits From” key to family.com.nokia.series40.bus.usb-bt rather than the “3rd edition” one. And it’s working beautifully! hope this makes sense – i can send you the file if you like.

  89. Joachim Beckers says:

    Thomas,

please do share the file. I’m one of the people that cannot get it to work.

    kind regards,

    Joachim

  90. Joshua says:

I tried the 9th Nov update but isync still says that device is not supported. It would be great if Thomas can send in the file he is using .

  91. Andrea Ceria says:

I followed the instructions of thomas… I took the original script and I edited that string. Result: it worked!
    Macbook C2D with 10.6.1

this is my metaclasses.plist (edited the nokia 6131 one!)
    http://b3.s3.quickshareit.com/metaclasses405b4.plist

  92. Joshua says:

That worked Andrea. Thanks a lot.

Here is what I have done:

    1. Download the file Andrea provided.
    2. Rename to MetaClasses.plist
    3. Copy to the Nokia 6131 folder, replacing the existing MetaClasses.plist

Be advised that contacts do not sync 100%. For example company name is coped from mobile to address book but not from address book to mobile.

  93. Aitor says:

    Thanks Tomas !!
This work perfectly in my phone. Thanks again!!
