I'm only following 29 people on Twitter and I find it nearly impossible to follow conversations. I can't imagine how users following hundreds of people keep up. Granted, I don't spend as much time on Twitter as I need to, but I find it a bit overwhelming at times.

I have a quick scan over their profile/bio/previous tweets .. if they are from Ireland or they look like someone who might be interesting I will follow them back. If they are following over 900 people, I tend to ignore and give them a wide birth.
