As the owner and administrator of this website, I respect that each and every visitor has the right to privacy and that any and all data provided, or collected, will be processed in line with my obligations under the relevant Data Protect legislation. The purpose of this document is to outline, what type of data is collected, how it is stored, and how it is made available. Purpose

This website collects both personal and computer-related data about visitors.

Personal Data

Personal data is collected when a visitor chooses to leave a comment on the website. As I use WordPress to publish the content on this site, the following information is collected when you leave a comment:

  • Name,
  • Email Address,
  • Website,
  • IP Address,
  • Browser Version,
  • Operating System,
  • Gravatar (if it exists).

This information is used to uniquely identify each commenter. When leaving a comment, your name, website, browser version and operating system version are publicly available. While your IP address is not made public, it is used to display which country you are based in. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS INFORMATION BEING PUBLICLY AVAILABLE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS WEBSITE, EVEN ANONYMOUSLY.

Computer-Related Data

In addition to the above personal data, I also use several statistical and analytical packages to monitor usage of this website. These packages track and store the data about all visitors, including those who do not leave a comment. Unlike personal data, this information is not used to uniquely identify visitors. The following information is collected:

  • IP Address,
  • Browser Version,
  • Operating System Version,
  • Referring Address, including search terms used in Google, Yahoo! and other search engines,
  • Pages Visited,
  • Visit Time and Duration.

This information is not publicly available. While no computer security system is truly infallible, all reasonable steps are taken to ensure that this information is kept secure.

I also may at times use the Google Analytics. This information, collected by Google on my behalf, is held on Google’s servers, which may be outside Ireland and the EU. Google’s Privacy Policy is available here.

Disclosure

I do not give away, or sell, your private information to any Third Parties. Nor do I intend to any any time in the future. I believe that every person has the right to expect that their private information is kept private and confidential at all times. Right of Access

As I am holding your private and personal data, you have the right to request a copy of all data that I hold about you. If you would like a copy of the data, then please contact me, and I will be happy to oblige. There is no charge for a request of this nature, and I will respond to you within a maximum of 40 calendar days, but probably much sooner than that. Requests of this nature can be sent to my postal address above of via the form on my contact page.

Right of Correction & Erasure

If you believe that the information that I hold about you is either a) incorrect, or that b) the data is not being held for a legitimate reason, then you may request that your data is updated in case a) or erased in case b). Once again there is no charge for this request and the request will be completed within a maximum of 40 calendar days.
