Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is on the box at the moment. I’d forgotten how funny Steve Martin used to be. Whatever happened to him, he’s changed, he’s not funny anymore. Has he lost his knack, or has comedy moved on and left Steve Martin behind? Personally I think it’s a bit of both. While I don’t doubt that he still puts 100% into what he does, I get the feeling that he’s trying to recreate past memories and it doesn’t work. Not when there are so many comedians out there who can relate to my generation so much better.
