Hi Paul,
Thanks for the plugin. I have installed it, and it works via the RSS icon in a browser. However, it did not add the link in my Meta widget (even though I checked the box). Any idea why this may be? (Perhaps my theme doesn't allow it?) ...I'm new to this blog & twitter phenomenon...
Thanks for any help,
David

Thanks Paul... that's what i figured... this site needs to stay like it is since the customer is very set in keeping the look fully intact.. I have just started building CMS sites with Wordpress and like it for that (www.simiyouthsoccer.org is the first one I built with Wordpress as a site) I appreciate your offer of assistance and will keep it in mind when I am working on the next one. :)

Thanks again,
SteveAx

Hi Steve,

Thanks for downloading and installing the plugin.

Unfortunately the plugin won't work in this case. When a reader goes to your page, the browser looks for the RSS link in the HEAD of the containing page. The plugin only modifies the output of the WordPress HEAD. As this is not in the main page being loaded, browser doesn't use the RSS link that WordPress provides. Because the containing frameset is outside of the WordPress environment, there is no way for the plugin to hook into the frameset and modify it.

I do have some advice for you. Instead of putting WordPress in a framset, use WordPress for your entire site. Use WordPress Pages for all your static content. Create a new Page for each static page that you need. Also create a blank page titled "News" or "Blog" (or whatever you want to call your news section).

In your WordPress Administration Panel, Under "Settings, Reading" there's an option "Front Page Displays". In this section choose "Static Page" and choose your preferred home page from the list. Select the blank News/Blog page as your "Posts Page".

This setup will provide you with the benefits of having a static homepage in addition to a fully integrated WordPress blog/ news section.

If you have any questions about using WordPress as a CMS for your site, please feel free to email me and I'll be more than happy to help out.

Regards,
Paul.

note... website is testing right now..

Love the idea... I have installed and activated and set-up settings... and it doesn't do anything to th eRSS icon because (I think) the wordpress is in a frame of the site.. if I go directly to the wordpress page http://www.rotorcraftsupport.com/wordpress/ it does... so y question is: Is there anyway to set this up so that the rss icon works when the wordpress page is in a frameset?

Thanks for the great plugin!
